Bryce Canyon National Park ˆtopˆ The Southwest offers few views as unique and breathtaking as the Bryce Canyon Amphitheater and its red rock spires, pinnacles and "hoodoos". Hiking among these wonders makes Bryce Canyon's splendor an experience unequalled by any story or photograph. Queen's Garden Trail, Thor's Hammer and Inspiration Point are some of the visual highlights of this day trip.
Canyoneering ˆtopˆ Canyoneering combines the acts of hiking, climbing, scrambling and rappelling through narrow canyons formed by erosion and the uplift of the Colorado Plateau. Cedar Breaks National Monument ˆtopˆ A huge natural amphitheater has been eroded out of the variegated Pink Cliffs (Claron Formation) near Cedar City, Utah. Explore the backside of Zion where millions of years of sedimentation, uplift and erosion have created a deep canyon of rock walls, fins, spires and columns that spans some three miles and is over 2,000 feet deep. The rim of the canyon is over 10,000 feet above sea level and is forested with islands of Englemann spruce, subalpine fur and aspen; separated by broad meadows of brilliant summertime wild flowers. The difficulty of hiking can be varied for different groups with an emphasis on interpretation of the resident flora, fauna and geological features.

Red Cliffs Canyon ˆtopˆ Join us for a relaxing hike in the canyons of Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. This 4-mile adventure will take you past archaeological sites of the Anasazi culture as you meander through the narrow canyons nestled below the eastern slop of the Pine Valley Mountains.
Red Mountain Traverse ˆtopˆ Standing tall and majestic behind the spa is our namesake, Red Mountain. This 6-8 hour day hike begins with a steep climb to the summit and continues by traversing the entire length of the mountain ending some 12 miles to the north amidst volcanic cinder cones. The hike is strenuous and technically challenging, with spectacular views. You'll need to carry plenty of water and your lunch.
Rim to Rim - Grand Canyon National Park ˆtopˆ View the Grand Canyon like you have never viewed it before...from the bottom looking up! This is the hike of a lifetime. This twenty-six mile, two-day hike takes you from the North Rim to Phantom Ranch and back out the South Rim. Phantom Ranch, a cottonwood-shaded oasis is located at the bottom of the canyon on the Colorado River. Since the turn of the 20th century, the Colorado River has beckoned many folks to leave their creature comforts behind and hike in for a visit. The temptation to get to the banks of this mighty desert river can be very strong, enticing many to embark on one of the most physically and mentally challenging endeavors of their lives.

Sand Cove Slickrock Adventure ˆtopˆ One of our most popular hikes offered. Our slickrock hikers will experience the incomparable natural beauty of Utah's Navajo sandstone and have the opportunity to observe the diversity of the contrasting geologic formations.
The Gateway ˆtopˆ This trail begins next to a small stream and immediately enters into a slot canyon (Water Canyon) where hikers can observe a free-standing arch, sheer cliffs and possibly waterfalls during the spring snow melt. As the trail gains altitude through this water-step passageway toward the top of Canaan Mountain, the scenery changes dramatically to volcanic rock, white sandstone hoodoos and slickrock amongst a pine tree canopy. Upon reaching the top, where we stop to enjoy our lunches, the views of Zion National Park and the surrounding area are spectacular.
The Wave ˆtopˆ The secret canyon known as the Wave is a unique natural wonder rock formation, a multi-colored chute of striated sandstone eroded over million of years from a sandstone mountain. The sculpted forms and swirled bands of color are simply breathtaking. Red, pink, yellow and cream rock have been blended together in a watercolor pallet to form castles, beehives, chutes and a thousand other shapes that will spark your imagination. The solitude, quiet and crystal blue skies will infuse you with a sense of peace as you take in the beauty. This 6-mile round trip hike over loose rock and soft sand offers a challenge that will test your ability to hike in the desert and give you a sense of accomplishment at its conclusion. Tuachan Saddle ˆtopˆ This "breath taking" 5.1-mile hike gains 1998 feet of elevation as it reaches 3738 feet above sea level, and includes a steep ascent and descent over the Tuachan Saddle into Snow Canyon State Park. You then continue along a section of the Trekker 2 Fern Gully hike before reaching a sandstone formation referred to as "Wall Street". Some guides say the sandstone surrounding you looks like a wall, while other say its steepness makes you feel as if you are climbing a wall. Aside from its physically challenging aspect, this hike offers some of the most dramatic views of Snow Canyon State Park, and includes deep sand, eroded pools and many sandstone playgrounds. The terrain includes long stretches of sand, rocky mountainous ascents and descents, over uneven ground.
Valley of Fire ˆtopˆ You will experience spectacular displays of color and nature's finest art on this inspiring day trip. Famous for its deep canyons, sandstone cliffs and scenic vistas, Zion National Park combines the beauty of lush forestland with the towering majesty of colorful mountain peaks. Zion National Park - Discovery Trip ˆtopˆ Join us on this Discovery Trip to Zion National Park, one of America's premier national parks. Our Zion adventure is primarily a driving tour through the park and while hiking is minimal, you will have opportunity to take several short walks to some of the park's most famous natural features. The guides will take you into the main canyon of the park and you will experience all of the geologic landmarks that make Zion famous throughout the world. You will also visit the east side of the park, driving up the steep switchbacks to take you through millions of years of geologic time. You will view rock work done in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Core, then travel through a man-made tunnel that is truly an engineering marvel. This trip also includes a visit to the historic Zion Lodge, the visitors center and museum. We will conclude the day by visiting the unique shops in Springdale, Zion's gateway city.
Assumption of Inherent Risk in Outdoor Activities Guests participating in Outdoor Recreation activities must recognize they include risks integral to those activities. Although it is possible to minimize these risks, they cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique nature of the activity. Guests must agree to comply with all safety rules and instruction of Red Mountain Spa, any of its agents, employees and representatives. Guests must recognize that our activities occur in the wilderness in environments that include canyons, mountain and desert terrain, remote from medical facilities, roads and communication sites. Some of the inherent risks guests may be exposed to include, but are not limited to: judgments by self, others or Red Mountain Spa; not following instructions; rough and steep terrain, falling or stumbling, trails with or without maintenance, off-trail travel, fences and barbed wire, loose rock, sand, sharp branches, cactus, vegetation, boulders, exposed ledges and paths, standing or running water, high temperatures, flash floods, rain, snow, lightning, extreme weather changes, winds, wild animals, venomous reptiles, insects, terrain lacking water resources and rock fall. These and other risks and hazards can result in injury, damage, permanent disability, death or loss. By voluntarily signing up to participate in any organized outdoor recreation activity at Red Mountain Spa, guests acknowledge the presence of these and similar risks.
