Steve Wilson

Personal Biography

At age 55, Steve accepted the opportunity presented by corporate restructuring to deliberately design and customize his NEXT! life. Steve believes many allow career to overshadow life. "We've confused leaving our careers with the 'end', when in truth, for the insightful person it's a bold beginning to living a life on your terms. I have come to believe a career is what you do while assembling what you need to launch your life."

Among Steve's current interests is spending time with other "boomers" anxiously anticipating the transition from "24/7 full-contact employment" to the great beyond, which Steve affectionately refers to as NEXT! His insight and sense of humor have made him a popular motivational speaker.

Steve's education includes a B.S. degree in sociology with a minor in psychology as well as a Master of Public Administration with a health services emphasis. His career spanned almost 30 years, all with one of the nation's preeminent regionally integrated healthcare delivery systems with 2200 employees and an annual operating budget of over $400 million. He held a number of positions including: Planning & Marketing Director, Assistant Administrator, Assistant Vice President and Administrator/Chief Executive Officer.

Steve's post career passions have led him to obtain his real estate license, become the president of Wilson Realty, and get involved with residential income properties and commercial property holdings. He is also a founding member of World Health Partners, a healthcare services consulting company. Steve and his wife, Cathy, share a passion for serving within their community and church in a number of voluntary positions. Far and away their greatest passion is all things family. They are the parents of four daughters and two sons, and have welcomed an additional daughter and two more sons via marriage. They cheerfully respond to the title of Grandma and Grandpa to an amazing gang of nine grandchildren.
